Last Wenesday I was invited by Fox Life to attend the premier of the Hysteria movie, which is based on real events, about the Dr. that invented the vibrator on the XIX century as a way to treat women with hysteria. A great comedy that I higly recommend, that is, to whatch with your girlfriends to have a good laught.

 

Na passada 4º feira, a convite da Fox Life, fui a ante-estreia do filme Boas Vibrações (Hysteria em inglês), o qual está baseado em acontecimento reais, no Dr. que no século XIX inventou o vibrador como forma de tratar a doença da histeria. Uma comédia genial que recomendo altamente, isso sim, convêm irem na companhia de amigas para darem umas belas gargalhadas.

I remember the early movies from Ryan Gosling, with Sandra Bullock (he´s ex girlfriend by the way) at "Murder by Numbers" or "The Titans" with Denzel Washington. Then he got his big hit with the unforgettable "The Notebook", but he´s come a long way since then, making all kind of different movies and characters, on "Blue Valentine", "Crazy Stupid Love" and now "Drive" with an outstanding performance. I totally loved the movie and... Ryan of course!

Lembro-me dos primeiros filmes de Ryan Gosling, com Sandra Bullock (a sua ex namorada já agora) em  "Murder by numbers" ou "The Titans" com Denzel Washington. Depois teve o seu grande hit com "O diario da nossa paixão", mas recorreu um grande caminho desde então, fazendo todo tipo de filmes e personagens diferentes, como "Blue Valentine", "Crazy Stupid Love" e agora "Drive" com uma performance incrível. Eu ca adorei o filme e... Ryan claro!

                       

Michelle as Marilyn

When I first heard that Michelle Williams was going to do the part of the great Marilyn I was a bit disappointed, not because I don´t think she is an amazing actress, because I do, but the reason was because I thought she wasn´t ideal for the "shoes" she had to fill in (and what a big pair of shoes!). As it turn out, they couldn´t have picked better, she does not only look just like her, but also moves and talks as the own Miss Monroe had come down to earth. Bravo dear Michelle, bravo!

A primeira vez que ouvi que a Michelle Williams ia interpretar o papel da grande Marilyn fiquei um bocado desapontada, não porque pense que ela não é uma actriz incrível, porque é, mas a razão era porque pensava que não era a pessoa ideal para os "sapatos" que tinha de calçar (e que grande par de sapatos!). Como veio a ser, não poderiam ter escolhido melhor, não só se parece a ela, mas também se mexe e fala como se a própria Miss Monroe tivesse descido a terra. Bravo querida Michelle, bravo!

Breakfast at Tiffany´s Turns 50

It´s really been 50 years? Half a century has proved to be more than enough to make a legend. Who can forget that perfect Givenchy Little Black Dress, the oversized cigarette holder, the necklace and the diadema and how the great Audrey Hepburn sang Moon River? A legacy that will remain in the movie´s history.

Realmente já passaram 50 anos? Metade de século provou ser mais do que suficiente para fazer a lenda. Quem pode esquecer o perfeito Little Black Dress da Givenchy, a boquilha de cigarros extragrande, o colar e a diadema e como a grande Audrey Hepburn cantou Moon River? Um legado que ficará na historia cinematografica.

Uma agradável surpresa

Deparei-me numa situação chata mas que me esta sempre a acontecer, e que, ainda bem, acabou por ter um resultado inesperado. Estando eu sentada comodamente no sofa sem nada de jeito para ver na tv (que chatice!), eis que decidi alugar um filme, concretamente o "Morning Glory" que a primeira vista parecia ser mais um de aqueles filmes dos quais não se esta a espera de grande coisa mas que acabam por sorprender no fim e damos por nos a passar um bom bocado. Reconheço que também me custa não gostar de um filme onde apareça o Harrison Ford, já não se fazem homem assim.
